Facilities

LaRosa Field was first opened in the fall of 2005.  The field is home to St. Augustine’s football, lacrosse, and soccer teams.  The facility boasts a 130 x 100 Field Turf playing surface, stadium lighting, stadium surround sound system, and a digital scoreboard.  In 2007 the Baumgardner Press Box was added.  In the summer of 2009, a 1,200 seat bleacher system was installed, completing the facility. The field we re-surfaced in the summer 2018.

LaRosa Field is named for the late Fr. Steven LaRosa. Fr. Larosa was the second headmaster and first president, and one of the greatest supporters of St. Augustine Prep and its athletic programs.

The Navone Athletic Building was completed in the fall of 2014.  This game changing facility will serve to facilitate the growing needs of the Hermits Athletics programs.  With over 2,000 sq. feet of floor space, the facility includes 16 Legend Fitness cage stations, 30 yard sprint turf, and a custom rubber flooring system among other amenities.

Opened in 2008, the Hermits weight room sits in the basement of the Buondonno Forum.  Boasting all new equipment, the weight room has the capacity to accommodate several sports teams at once.  The 800 square-foot weight room is equipped with three full racks of free weights, four freestanding rack areas, five flat benches and six power stations. Hammer Strength, Pro-Elite Strength Systems, and CAP & Weider Free Weights supply the weightlifting equipment.  Aerobic equipment includes stationary bikes and an elliptical cross-trainer.  The floor of the complex features Tufflex (rubber) flooring and the room is individually temperature controlled.

The Buondonno Forum hosts a full service athletic training facility. The Training room allows us to thoroughly prevent, treat, and rehab most athletic injuries.  Amenities include a taping area (2 taping tables), treatment area (3 treatment tables), and hydrotherapy area.  The space also includes an electric stimulation/ultrasound machine, hydrocullator, 110 gallon whirlpool, stationary bike, and thera-tubing rehab station (among many other pieces of rehab equipment).  The facility also contains a heart defibrillator that is easily accessible.
