FACILITIES

LaRosa Turf Field

LaRosa Field was first opened in the fall of 2005. It is home to St. Augustine’s football, lacrosse, and soccer teams. The facility boasts a 130 x 100 Field Turf playing surface, stadium lighting, surround sound system, and a digital scoreboard. In 2007, the Baumgardner Press Box was added. In the summer of 2009, a 1,200-seat bleacher system was installed, completing the facility. The field was resurfaced in the summer of 2018.

LaRosa Field is named for the late Fr. Steven LaRosa. Fr. Larosa was the second headmaster and first president and one of the most incredible supporters of St. Augustine Prep and its athletic programs.

Navone Athletic Building

The Navone Athletic Building was completed in the fall of 2014.  This game changing facility will serve to facilitate the growing needs of the Hermits Athletics programs.  With over 2,000 sq. feet of floor space, the facility includes 16 Legend Fitness cage stations, 30 yard sprint turf, and a custom rubber flooring system among other amenities.

Opened in 2008, the Healy Weight Room is located in the basement of the Buondonno Forum. Equipped with all-new equipment, it can accommodate multiple sports teams simultaneously. The 800-square-foot facility features three full free-weight racks, four freestanding rack areas, five flat benches, and six power stations. Weightlifting equipment is supplied by Hammer Strength, Pro-Elite Strength Systems, and CAP & Weider Free Weights. The aerobic equipment includes stationary bikes and an elliptical cross-trainer. The facility’s floor is made of Tufflex (rubber) material, and the room has an individually controlled temperature system.

The Buondonno Forum features a full-service athletic training facility. The training room is equipped to effectively prevent, treat, and rehabilitate most athletic injuries. Amenities include a taping area with two taping tables, a treatment area with three treatment tables, and a hydrotherapy area. The facility also offers an electric stimulation/ultrasound machine, a hydrocollator, a 110-gallon whirlpool, a stationary bike, and a thera-tubing rehab station, among other rehabilitation equipment. Additionally, the facility is equipped with an easily accessible heart defibrillator.

Our program is extremely fortunate to have two full-time athletic trainers, Matt Pineo and Maeve McFaddeen, whose expertise and dedication ensure the highest quality of care for our athletes.
